Bikie raids linked to Mildura
POLICE believe the Rebels motorcycle gang is trying to re-establish a base in Mildura after the Comancheros were targeted in a recent covert operation.
Police yesterday raided 60 Victorian properties linked to the Comancheros after members of the gang were arrested in Mildura last month and charged with serious offences.
Victoria Police Assistant Commissioner Steve Fontana said the Comancheros were targeted during yesterday’s operation due to concerns about recent police operations, particularly in Mildura.
“They absolutely terrorised the community,” Mr Fontana said of the Mildura operation.
“We moved the Comancheros out of Mildura, now we know that the Rebels are trying to set up base again so this is a constant thing that we’re dealing with,” he said.
“There’s always someone to fill in – there are a lot of organisations out there (and) these groups are involved in making wealth.”
