‘Lock up your car’
A WHITE Toyota Tarago found with a running motor outside Mildura Senior College at 1am yesterday was just one of a series of stolen or targeted vehicles.
Acting Sergeant Matt Currow, of Mildura police, said the suspected stolen car had signs of forced entry and the front doors were left open.
He pleaded with Mildura residents to lock their vehicles, to remove valuables and to immediately ring 000 if they witnessed suspicious behaviour.
A vehicle was also stolen from Cureton Avenue at 3am, but later located 100m from where it was taken.
The owners of the white Toyota van had left its keys in the centre console.
Sgt Currow said it was uncertain whether the two incidents were related, but police were investigating.
Two Fourteenth Street residences side-by-side were also broken into between Tuesday and yesterday, with vehicles at both properties tampered with.
