Exposed himself 19 times
SERIAL MASTURBATOR: A serial masturbator exposed himself to children and a mother with a pram at least 19 times in 40 minutes at two Hunter train stations, a court has heard.
The 21-year-old man fronted Maitland Local Court yesterday over three separate sets of offences all involving public masturbation.
The Maitland man was expected to defend two charges of wilful and obscene exposure in a public place however changed his plea to guilty on the day of the hearing.
On August 30 last year CCTV footage from Beresfield Railway Station captured the man masturbating on six separate occasions about 8.20pm.
At the time of the offence the man was in full view of seven children, aged between 10 and 17, and a woman with a pram.
He boarded a westbound train about half an hour later and got off at Thornton Railway Station where he exposed himself another 13 times.
At 9.36pm he boarded a Newcastle bound train and was intercepted by police who had been contacted by railway staff.
In addition to two counts ofwilful exposure the man pleaded guilty to travelling without a valid ticket.
Three months later, on November 1 about 7.50pm, police received calls from East Maitland residents about a drunk man loitering in their street.
Police found the man naked from the waist down in full view of traffic on his front verandah under a street light.
The man apologised and explained that he thought it was in a private place.
He was taken to Maitland police station were he was found with seven grams of cannabis.
He has previously pleaded guilty to two charges from the incident; offensive behaviour in a public place and possession of a prohibited drug.
The man has also pleaded guilty to property damage, intimidation and offensive language in a public place from an incident on November 29 last year.
He will be sentence on April 10.
